Regardless of location it’s best to get a soil auger- one and a half inches and an extension bit and drill out hole carefully to ease the insertion of the steak. In Arizona calechi is very difficult to penetrate and will additionally need a pike and sledge in the hole. Great product very strong – took on a sledgehammer and a rubber mallet to get it in the ground intact – highly recommend

This is the perfect method for getting water deep down into the root base of your trees. It encourages the roots to grow downwards towards the water instead of climbing to the surface and creating problems. It is easily incorporated into any drip system and saves water as there is no surface evaporation.

I live in the desert and have been looking for a deep watering/feeding solution for my citrus trees. I saw some watering stakes at another hardware store, but was disappointed that they weren’t made domestically. These deep drip irrigation stakes were not only made in the USA, but less expensive as well. I followed the guidance on the deep drip website and installed these with no issues.
