About two years ago, I installed 10 drip stakes around my yard in the San Francisco region. My theory was that the deep watering would make the plants less fussy about watering schedule. The plants with drip stakes have done well. I have purchased 6 more stakes for other plants. The stakes cost around $10 each, but you save that when the plant thrives and you don’t have to replace it.
